Hello, I’m Julia and I’m a Survivor

Welcome to my profile
Hello and welcome to my profile. I’m Julia and I’ve been writing about narcissistic abuse and domestic violence for a few years.
Who Am I?
I am a survivor of narcissistic abuse. I lived in a domestic violence shelter for almost a year after I was told by the police to leave my home with my children.
I chose my pen name, Julia Freeman, while I was living in hiding at the shelter. I’ve always loved the name Julia and now that I’m free Freeman describes how I want to spend the rest of my life.
Past
I was a Christian homeschooling mom of many for over twenty years. I loved being home with my kids, teaching them, and living life with them.
After a near-death experience, I began to heal from my past, learn about and apply boundaries, and face the truth of what my life had become.
I believe this healing changed my life and made it impossible for me to continue to live in denial any longer. A few years later my marriage was over and I was a single mom almost overnight.
Present
I know the struggle of trying to balance making an income with parenting children. I face the guilt of leaving my children in the care of others so I can make enough money to pay our bills. It’s difficult to come to terms with how much my life has changed and how much divorce has taken from all of us. It is part of the cost of freedom.
I believe in the resilience of the human mind and spirit and that those of us who have gone through abuse can be free from our pasts. We can always choose mental and emotional health for ourselves and set a good example for our children.
Purpose
I write and podcast to share what I have learned to help and encourage others. I believe that as we become survivors we want to help others become free also.
